Privacy Notice

This is the personal website of Dr. Chérie L. Hughes, soprano and voice teacher in Eugene, Oregon. It has no accounts, no contact forms, no newsletter and no comments. The site keeps no record of who visits it. The one third-party service it uses is a Google Ads tag, described below, which helps measure whether Google advertising for the teaching studio brings in enquiries.

Last updated 15 October 2026.

The public pages of this site load the Google tag (gtag.js) from Google. It is used only for Google Ads conversion measurement. The site does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service.

When you visit a page, the tag reports the page view to Google. When you click a link that opens an email to Chérie, the tag reports that click as a "sign-up" conversion. No message content, email address or other personal detail is sent by the tag. Google may set and read advertising cookies in your browser (for example _gcl_au) so that it can connect a click on a Google ad to a later visit here. How Google uses this data is described in Google's advertising policies and Google's privacy policy.

This page carries no Google tag, so reading the privacy notice is not reported.

How to opt out

• Block or clear cookies for this site in your browser settings. The site works fully without them.
• Turn off ad personalisation in Google's Ads Settings, or install Google's browser opt-out extension.
• Content blockers that stop googletagmanager.com prevent the tag from loading at all.

Every contact link on this site opens your own email program with a message addressed to Chérie. Your message goes straight to her mailbox and is used only to answer you, arrange lessons or engagements, and keep in touch about them. It is not shared with anyone else or used for marketing lists. If you would like an earlier exchange deleted, ask by email and it will be.

The site is served from a web host in the United States. Like any web server, it keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type and time) for a short period to keep the site running and secure. These logs are not used to identify or profile visitors.

The audio clips on the Listen section are stored on this site and play in your browser; nothing about your listening is recorded. Links to Spotify and other outside sites take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies. The site's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to deliver them.

Questions about this notice or about your data can be sent to clhughes@cherielhughes.com. This notice will be updated if the site starts collecting anything new.
